General Questions:
What is Jam?
Jam is the weekly experience for our 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. Jam consists of two parts: large group and small groups. In large group, all students are combined together for crazy games, live worship, and teaching that's geared towards the issues junior high students face. Afterwards, students break out into small groups to discuss the message with other students and their leaders.
When does Jam meet?
Jam meets on Wednesdays from 7-8:30pm. During the summer, Jam has selected dates at different times and locations. Check out the event box on the right of this page for all our event info.
What camps/events does Jam have?
Jam Camp is our yearly summer camp. Students trek up north on a camping experience like none other! Winterfest is our yearly winter retreat that happens over President's Day Weekend, and involves snow, tubing, creative projects, and a whole.lot.of.fun!
Small Group Questions:
What is a Small Group?
Small groups are the foundation of what we do. Our groups are gender and grade specific, and we try to pair your student with other students from the same area. Small groups meet Wednesday nights after Jam's large group teaching time. Small groups exist so that students can connect with each other and leaders to grow deeper in their relationship with Jesus. Each small group discussion is based around the teaching from the session and groups unpack how the message relates to students' lives. Small groups are encouraged to regularly meet outside of Jam for social events to encourage deeper relationships. Small groups stay together throughout junior high school, multiplying as the group grows.
What time does small group end?
We shoot for small groups to be the final aspect of the evening, usually ending by 8:30 p.m. However, each group wraps up discussion at their own pace, so please be patient while waiting for your student.
Why can’t my student’s small group leader move up to the Rock with them?
The Rock (for high schoolers) divides their small groups by gender and zip code. Jam divides our small groups by gender and grade. We find this to be a beneficial way to incorporate freshman into the Rock and help them mature by placing them with older peers as well as a new leader to look to for spiritual guidance and support. We also believe a variety of personalities is beneficial for shaping your student spiritually.
