Rachel Rooks, Coordinator of Children's Ministry

One day in her preschool years, Rachel was heading home from church with her family and told her mom that she wanted to be with Jesus in heaven someday.  She prayed with her mom, and then spent the next 10 years realizing and understanding the impact of that decision.  It’s been a crazy ride, but so worth it. 

Rachel started working in Children’s Ministry at Harvest in June 2008.  Just to show His amazing provision and sense of humor, God abruptly brought her home from ministry in Honduras to place her in a suburban, church-ministry position: the type of job she had vowed against in college.  She can now laugh at herself for making that vow!  Rachel finds joy in helping people realize how much they love kids and connecting them with these special little people.

When procrastination creeps in, Rachel resorts to feverishly filing her nails while listening to the latest playlist that she spent too much time creating.  And while she abhors the sport of hockey, she can’t contain her love for the movie ‘Miracle’.  Never missing from Rachel’s feet is a pair of solid outdoorsy shoes.  Keens, Chacos, Tevas, Crocs… that’s Rachel.  She’s also passionate about countries she’s never been to, but hopes to visit someday.
